Do Not Vote For Incumbents

Do Not Vote For Incumbents And Reasons Why

I believe all incumbents in the current election need to be replaced because of the following reasons:

  1. Not communicating effectively to the membership.
  2. Greektown.
  3. For cutting essential services and more than 100 tribal members jobs without the board taking their own pay cut. This action alone is enough. This was arrogant of the board.
  4. The board arrogantly refused to allow you to vote on the new constitution that was presented by an appointed Constitution Committee over 2 years ago. And then one current board member throws you a bone to separate the chairman and CEO position. This was in the new constitution this same board member was against and he is taking credit for an idea that was not even his. Arrogance again.
  5. Illegal use of elder money in a desperate attempt to save Greektown and then failing to protect the investment with a “secured loan”. Another arrogant action by the board.
  6. Voting to raise Dr. pay before waiting to see if the National Health Care plan would pass. Plus no raises should have been made during the world’s worst recession ever.
  7. Allowing someone who is in a lawsuit with the tribe to be on the board.
  8. Not firing the Chief of Police after he was federally indicted, then failing to officially accept his resignation which means to this day he remains an employee.
  9. Failure to address the fact that more than 51% of our members are not written into the Sault Tribe Constitution (and they should be). How different would our tribe be if you voted out those who are against recognizing more than 51% of our tribal membership?
  10. Charlotte Beach – the State owes us property. Potentially we have a sustainable income resource that can help us out during these hard times, perhaps with an income property, casino? But no one that I am aware of has step up to the plate to resolve this issue. Charlotte Beach belongs to us. So either we get the land back or the state gives us land elsewhere as they agreed to.
  11. Failing to represent us and then expecting us to do nothing!
